General Policies & Procedures

Class Schedule:

Promptness in arrival and dismissal time is appreciated.  A child should not be brought early as teachers need time to prepare their classroom for the day.

Our school:

  • Follows the Stafford Public School calendar

  • Operates from September to June

Half Day Programs start at 9:00am and dismiss at 12:00noon (extended day exception). Full Day Programs start at 9:00am and dismiss at 2:00pm. It is important to phone the Preschool if you are going to be more than 15 minutes late on arrival.  It is also asked that you phone the Preschool if someone other than a parent is picking up your child or if you need to pick up your child before the scheduled dismissal time.

Dress:

Children are to be dressed for active play, i.e., playing outdoors, painting, gluing etc.  All outerwear must be labeled with your child’s name.

Emergency Forms and Immunization Records:

Forms must be completed prior to the first day of school.  This information is critical so we can call people in the event of an emergency and you are not available.
Note:  Keep your emergency contact information current i.e.: address changes & new cell phone #s. Immunization Forms and Universal Health Forms must be returned to the preschool office before the first day of school.

Transportation:

Manahawkin Methodist Preschool does not provide transportation to or from school.  It is the sole responsibility of the parent/guardian to provide safe transportation of their child.

We will however, refuse dismissal of a student if the safety of the child is in question (i.e.:  driver appears impaired, unauthorized person attempting to pick up child).

Parking:

You may park in the lot across the street, leaving the first three rows for emergency firehouse parking.  We share the front street parking with organizations that use the church building regularly.  Please teach your child how to safely cross the street.  You must walk your child to the side door entrance and then wait in the hallway until the door is opened.  Use the same routine for picking up your child.  Remember to keep front areas clear across the street.  This is a fire lane.
